More sports photography, and this time a proper introduction to the trade. I was stood on the sidelines happily peering down the barrel of my lens, and noticed the play was heading towards me. I didn't think much of it, but a second later the ball carrier flew past my side and the tackler took out my legs from underneath me. Suddenly my nose was six inches from the mud!
Thankfully the way I was holding my gear meant I landed on my elbows and the only mishap was a little mud on the hood and a few specks on the filter. It took me a while to realise what happened, it was hilarious afterwards. Travelling home on the train covered in mud was not so much fun.
